Cpap Machines are the most effective way for combatting sleep apnea; a disorder that can show fatal results if left untreated. Many a patients have suffered heavily in their professional and personal lives due to this dreaded sleep related disorder and if you don’t want to be one of them, you should seek timely treatment by consulting your qualified doctor, who can prescribe an ideal machine for your needs.
Cpap machines are very uncomfortable to wear and following are a few tips to get used to them:
·         Buy a Cpap machine of your size:Cpap masksare available in various sizes and these machines don’t follow the principle of ‘1 size fits all’! At the very outset, you should ensure that the mask is the right sized one for your face and isn’t too tight or too loose.
·         Get the feel of the machine: Sleep apnea machine should be worn at times other than your sleep time so that getting used to it becomes comfortable. Try wearing them for half an hour during the day time and continue with your routine work. At night time, wear the mask half an hour prior to sleeping and spend time like you usually do, i.e. watching TV or reading a novel. Ensure that the mask is on! This will help you get adjusted to the sound of the motor.
·         Keep patience: Keeping patience is the biggest attribute of getting used to a Cpap device. As a word of advice, look out for Cpap suppliesthat have largely silent motors.
